I am doing research for a biography of James A. Reed. He was an attorney for Nell Donnelly at the time of Mr. Depew arrest and conviction for the Donnelly kidnapping. I am hopeful of obtaining information about Depew/Deputy after he was sent to prison in Missouri.

Marshall Deputy (aka Martin DePew, John M Long) committed bigomy when he married Ethel, as he was still married to his wife Valeria who was back home in Downington, PA, with their children at the time. In December 1931, Marshall and new wife Ethel kidnapped Mrs.Nell Donelly in Kansas City then deserted her in Buffalo, NY. Ethel was once employed by Mrs.Donelly. Ethel was from the state of Washington.
