1863 June 18

The undersigned having been appointed by the Orphans Court of Kent County state of Maryland to view the Estate of Mary Deputy, John Deputy, Nora Deputy, and Bill Deputy, Minors; in the hands of Elias Deputy their acting Guardian and to estimate the annual value thereof and further to do what is enjoined by the annexed appointment do hereby certify that we have valued the real estate at six hundred dollars current money of Maryland or one half of the oats and corn crop for the year Eighteen hundred and sixty three the wheat crop being appraised with the personal property and Twelve hundred dollars current money of the State of Maryland or the one half part of the wheat oats and corn crop for the year Eighteen hundred and sixty four and five each.

We find that the said Estate is improved by a brick dwelling house forty feet long twenty five feet deep and one story high with a front Porch also brick Kitchen and dining room forty feet long and twenty feet deep one story high with dormer window to each also a frame Milk house 10 + 12 ft frame Meat house 12 + 12 ft two poultry houses one 20 + 10 feet and one 13 + 10 ft; frame carriage house 19 + 12 ft, Stable 36 x 18 ft, Stable with feed room and large loft 36 x 30 ft Granery and corn cribs on each side 42 x 36 ft and 12 ft high Log Quarter 24 x 18 ft with garden attached enclosed by plank and pale fence of 350 ft containing about twenty pear trees about two years old the front yard to dwelling house is enclosed by sixty pannells plank and pale fence sixten feet to each pannell we find there is and old apple orchard of about one hundred trees but they are exposed in a cultivated field and not considered of much value there is also about fifty young apple trees in field adjoining house but as they are not fenced off from pasture field they are apt to be destroyed.

The number of acres in said Estate is Three hundred and ten acres divided into four fields mostly stake and capped fence and mostly cleared land except around the creek shores we Judge that there is about Thirty acres of wood or uncleared land leaving the cleared land Two hundred and eighty acres cultivated one fourth in wheat one fourth in oats one fourth in corn and the balance in pasture we would recommend to seed less oats and more wheat and corn ^Buildings out of repair^

The above annexed is to be divided as follows in $600.00 for the year 1863

  Mary Deputy              150.00
  John Deputy              150.00
  Nora Deputy              150.00
  Bill Deputy              150.00        $600.00
for the years 1864 & 1865 annual value  $1200.00
       Mary Deputy         300.00
       John Deputy         300.00
       Nora Deputy         300.00
       Bill Deputy         300.00

The above apportionment may be changed if the Estate is rented for a portion or grain rent    Witness this our hands and seals this ninth day of June Eighteen hundred and sixty three
