introduced a difficulty between himself and Brother Wm. DRENING which
was taken up and Brethren Aaron SCOTT, James FOWLER, Samuel MALCOMB, Joshua DEPUTY,
and Allen HILL were appointed a committee to see the brethren and try
to settle the difficulty if possible and report the result at next
church meeting. 2nd received a communication from Vernon Baptist Church
for aid and council in the ordination of F. G. MARTIN on the 3rd
Saturday of the present month, whereupon Allen HILL and Aaron SCOTT were
appointed to go.

comnmunication from certain brethren living three miles south of Lening,
Scott County, at a place called Hebron for aid and council in the
constitution of a church at that place on the last Saturday . In answer
thereto we the church agree to their aid Elder Wm. B. LEWIS and Wm.
LEWIS. Also, one from certain brethren and Sister living in the
neighbohood of Byfield’s Schoolhouse for the same purpose and on the
same day. Elder Thomas HILL and James FOWLER and Joshua DEPUTY were
appointed to go there each to meet on the last Saturday in the present
month (July) at eleven o’clock. 2nd Dismissed by letter Brother Daniel
RECTOR and Sister Jane RECTOR, his wife. No other business appearing

Committee appointed to see Bro. W. McGANNON reported having talked with him and he confessed the wrong and promised to make his confession to the church. He not being present the church gave him another month to attend to it. On motion letters were granted to Sisters Lucinda DEPUTY and Maggie TOBIAS.

GOLDEN was chosen as pastor of the church after which the church purchased an organ of Bro. S. S. STRIBLING giving in exchange a note of $40.00 Forty Dollars which church holds against S. W. DEPUTY. Adjourned to meet 5 Saturday in January 1886.

Church met and pastor being absent proceed to business by electing brother J. H. McGUIRE moderator. Minutes of last meeting approved then the report of solicitng committee was called for. Bro. D. W. DODD reported $410 subscribed and Sister COLE $285. The church authorized each member to solicit menas for the new church and rep on the same to the proper committee, after which Bro. G. W. DODD was chosen to fill Bro. W. W. DIXON’s place as collector of pastor’s salary and Sister Henry COLE to fill his place as solicitor of means for the new church. Then the following resolution was adopted: Resolved, that the death of W. W. DIXON, who died March 21, 1886 we sustain the loss of a beloved brother and a valuable member of our church and we heartily express our sorrow in sympathy with his bereft family and amy his untiring zeal for the welfare of the church inspire us to more energy in behalf of Christ’s Kindom on the earth and also may our hopes at the close of life be no less bright than his were.

A mistake being found in the church record in regard to Sister M. E. DEPUTY
who received a letter from us in 1873. It was ordered that the part of
the record showing her dismissal the minutes of September 1884 be
erased. By vote of the church, it was agree to accept the following
proposition, made by Bro. U. B. STRIBLING of Madison. Viz: that if the
church will put a cellar under the new meeting house, he will furnish a
heating furnace for said house and put the same in working order gratis.
On motion it was agreed that the soliciting committee report Wednesday
night April 14. O. F. Phillips was then reelected church clerk for the
coming year. After which the church adjourned to meet first Saturday in
May.
